Senior Partnerships Manager

Our mission

We all know great teachers change lives. That’s why Nimble’s mission is to help schools find and hire amazing educators for every classroom. Founded at Stanford University and backed by Y Combinator, Nimble brings a spirit of innovation to an industry that has often been overlooked by modern tech companies. Our software suite helps practitioners at all levels of the public education system address one of the industry’s most pressing challenges: recruiting life-changing teachers.

Our culture

While some Nimblers are former teachers, others come from companies across the tech and startup world. What unites us is that we find purpose in our mission of ensuring all students have access to great teachers. We have a culture of high ownership and ambitious goals, complemented by employee trust and flexibility, which allows us to move efficiently without burnout.

We’re highly invested, not only in the mission, but also in each other. As a fully remote company, we’ve created rituals and traditions that allow us to bond from afar, and we look for teammates who will bring curiosity, creativity, humor, humility, and open-mindedness to work each day.

We’re a woman-founded company and a diverse team that has invested intentionally in creating a workplace where individuals from various backgrounds feel a deep sense of belonging.

Finally, while the innovation culture of Silicon Valley is in our company DNA and we have ambitious goals to transform the education industry, we approach our work through a lens of sustainable growth, rather than growth at all costs. This allows us to solve problems with freedom and creativity, without being constrained by the demands of outside investors.

The role

The Senior Partnerships Manager will develop and execute our school and district growth strategy. As an early sales hire, they will have significant strategic ownership in driving our direction, with a good dose of on-the-ground execution expected. This role reports to Nimble’s CEO.

Activities will include (but probably not be limited to):

  • Conducting data analysis to understand progress across target customer segments and adjust course as needed
  • Working with product to streamline and systematize the handoff of product-qualified leads to sales
  • Developing & executing outreach campaigns that appeal to key personas and are grounded in understanding of their work; includes outreach to school principals, HR leaders, and superintendents
  • Attending conferences and other live events; networking with school and district personnel and communicating the value of Nimble products
  • Conducting engaging conversations, including qualification calls, demos and webinars
  • Managing our CRM and sales enablement data
  • Collaborating with Operations and Customer Success to ensure a smooth handoff of closed sales
  • Working closely with the CEO to develop sales playbooks and best practices; providing inputs to the Executive Team based on your experience to inform Nimble’s overall growth strategy
  • Potential in the future to take on a leadership role in the growth of the sales organization

Qualifications

Highly qualified applicants meet most of the following criteria:

  • Knowledge of and experience in the K-12 education industry; teaching experience or experience working directly in schools/districts is a plus; experience working within talent acquisition or HR in districts or working closely with those personas in a partnership capacity is even better
  • Experience working within a sales or a partnerships function; this doesn’t have to be within a traditional tech sales organization, though that may be beneficial; early-stage company experience is also important — if you have only worked as an account exec within more established sales teams with sales operations and BDR support, this role may not be for you
  • Strong written and verbal communication, persuasion, and ability to connect with education stakeholders and diverse audiences
  • Can leverage data analysis and frameworks to develop strategic approaches to new challenges
  • Experience structuring & leveraging a CRM; ideal if HubSpot
  • Passion for our mission of ensuring all students have access to highly effective teachers, and a desire to take on an influential role in a scrappy, early-stage startup
  • Willingness to travel multiple times per month in peak conference seasons
  • This is a senior/lead-level role, which means the most competitive applicants will have 7+ years of professional experience

Compensation

Nimble is dedicated to providing competitive and transparent cash and equity compensation, with our cash compensation benchmarked between 50th and 75th percentiles for comparable tech company roles, and our equity grants benchmarked between 75th and 90th percentiles.
